A Magic Mushroom Dispensary in London, Ontario

When consumed in a supervised setting with trusted friends, magic mushrooms can cause positive side effects including altered thinking, spiritual experiences, and heightened awareness. However, they can also lead to unpleasant symptoms such as nausea, yawning, feeling drowsy, or nervousness. In some cases, psilocybin can trigger hallucinations or psychosis. It is also important to note that magic mushrooms are known to interact with certain medications. This is particularly true for SSRI antidepressants, which can increase serotonin levels and lead to a dangerous reaction called serotonin syndrome. Go here: magicmushroomsdispensary.ca

Journey to Wholeness: Exploring Magic Mushroom Dispensaries

Inside the mushroom shop, I spotted dried mushrooms of varying shapes and sizes. Some were tiny, resembling a poppy seed. Others were surprisingly large, with cap shapes like Daddy Long Legs or Wollygong. All the mushrooms amounted to one thing: they contained psilocybin, a naturally occurring psychedelic compound.

The fungi ranged in price from $10 for a gram to more than $200 for an ounce. The store was crowded, with regulars gathered around the counter to pick out what they wanted.

Despite the illegal status of magic mushrooms, stores peddling them are cropping up across Canada. Some of them are even opening multiple locations, a sign that demand is strong.

One such store is Fun Guyz, which operates three outlets in Ontario. Owner James told me he’s openly defying the law, describing the venture as “a medical protest.” Police in London and Windsor have raided the shops, but they have always reopened days afterward. The owners are betting that government and law enforcement will see their point soon enough, especially as more research demonstrates the benefits of psilocybin for mental health.
